When people at school are like: sorry I couldn’t do my homework because I was doing something last night.
I’m just like: I was rowing last night and the night before and all weekend and I still did it so you really have no excuse you either just can’t manage time or are lazy. Good luck at uni.
So I was at rowing today and it was freezing cold and pouring it down. The river was a bit flooded so we only had one landing stage that could only fit one boat at a time. I had just put my quad away and was soaking (despite wearing waterproofs) and there was a queue of boats trying to get off the water. Last in the queue was a quad of 14 year old girls who were soaked and shivering as they’d been waiting for the steps to clear. Just when it was their turn to land a group of senior men decided they would go in front with their eight to get on the water. The men were dry and wanted to boat before the girls, my crew mate and I asked them if they would wait and let the girls get off the water first as they were clearly frozen but the men didn’t care and pushed in front anyway saying that they were older and more important. There has always been friction between the seniors and juniors at my club, but I would’ve thought that the men could’ve been more mature than that. After all, if it were their daughters in the cold waiting I reckon they’d think twice about pushing. This may seem petty but the senior men really showed their true colours today and their selfish attitude was disgraceful. To be honest I wouldn’t be as bothered about it if it weren’t so cold, but these girls were so cold I’m surprised no one got hypothermia.
This is what terrifies me about the ocean.
the few times I’ve gone snorkelling this is the most intensely scary but amazing thing about it, the bit where the reef ends and it suddenly just drops off and you cant see the bottom or what’s down there, and you swim over the edge and suddenly your in open water, and you feel so vulnerable like you’re a fish that lives on the reef, and you finally understand finding nemo
you finally understand finding nemo
It’s like falling off a cliff in slow motion
Why did the US government shut down? How did Panem come to existence? Who was the first President? What happened to the other continents?
I am planning to see how many notes this gets, and once it gets a fair amount, I plan to send a letter to Suzanne Collins and ask her to make a new series about this topic.
